These rustic stone shelters offer sanctuary to weary wanderers seeking refuge from the wilderness.

Like whispers from centuries past, these simple dwellings provide just four walls, a roof and often a fireplace where countless travellers have warmed their hands and shared their tales.

When you join The Bothy, you'll become part of a community of like-minded, curious travellers. Here, we seek both refuge from and understanding of the world around us; finding joy in simplicity, sharing and the special connections that form when strangers become friends around a flickering bothy fire.

The Scots phrase "coorie doon" means to snuggle down or nestle in. It can also refer to the feeling of wrapping yourself in a blanket or receiving a warm hug from a loved one.

Coorie is also now a lifestyle trend, similar to the Danish concept of hygge, that involves appreciating the simple pleasures of life and embracing all things nature, no matter the weather!
