MIDSUMMER HERB BAG

A herb pouch made during midsummer can be used for protection, healing, or blessing and is traditionally created during the height of the sun, at midday, when solar energies are at their strongest all year.

You will need:

  • natural fabric material like cotton, linen, or muslin

  • herbs such as st. john's wort, lavender, chamomile, rosemary, and thyme (traditionally harvested at noon on midsummer’s day)

  • natural twine

How to make:

  1. Cut a circle of fabric approximately 20cm in diameter.

  2. Gather your herbs and lay them in the centre of the fabric.

  3. Draw the edges of the fabric up to form a pouch.

  4. Tie with string.

Hang by your door for protection, place under your pillow for peaceful sleep, keep in your sacred space for ritual use or carry with you for general blessing and protection. Remember to thank the herbs and express gratitude for their protective and healing properties when creating your pouch!
